Why Chile?

Chile is positioned as one of the most developed countries in Latin America. In recent years it has achieved to become a country of interest for many foreigners who come in search of opportunities for study, employment or tourism. Its unique beauty throughout the entire territory, offers unique landscapes, from the most arid deserts of the world, to lakes, forests and snowy mountains that leave breathless.

Why School of Government and Public Administration (EGGP) at the University of Chile?

First of all, the University of Chile is the oldest University of Chile, created in 1842. The University of Chile is an institution of higher education of national and public character, that assumes with commitment and vocation of excellence the formation of people.
Also, is one of the most prestigious and traditional in Latin America, as evidenced by different national and international awards. Lot of important people: Presidents, Senators, Ministers, Scientifics, Artists, Lawyers, Nobel winners, etc. studied in this University, like Pablo Neruda and Salvador Allende.
About the EGGP, this was the first School of Public Administration in Chile, created in 1954. The long history of the EGGP in the formation of leaders for the public administration is a strength in terms of being the main reference of the country. This leadership also leads to into the fact that year by year they join our students with the best scores of the university selection process (PSU) interested in studying this career.

APPLICATION REQUIEREMENT

Language Requirement The equivalent of 6 semesters of Spanish courses or DELE B1

Application Requirements

  1. Most updated Transcript of Records, including approved courses and grades. The Student Mobility Program requires students to have achieved a grade average equal or superior to 5.0 thus far. (Please refer to the Chilean equivalencies of grades)
  2. Support Letter or e-mail provided by the home institution, including a learning agreement approved by the University.
  3. Language certificate, proving Spanish language command of at least B1. If provided by the University, it must be stamped and signed by the institution.
  4. Copy of Passport (Identification page).
  5. Motivation Letter, stating the academic and personal reasons for making an exchange at the University of Chile. (In Spanish)

EVALUATION SYSTEM

It’s very important that you understand the Chilean Evaluation System for search your level to apply to University of Chile. The academic level at the University of Chile requires the acceptance of student with grades average equal or superior to 5.0

CREDIT SYSTEM

The student Mobility Program conducts the entry of International Students to the University of Chile in order to allow them to pursue courses in different faculties and institutes.
All courses enrolled by International Students through the Student Mobility Program are expressed on credits, according to the table below, which considers only the actual attendance or teaching hours and associate them to a number of credits for each class/course.
